The Big Pig Winter Shootout
The Big Pig Shootout is an ongoing series of fun competitive fly fishing tournaments host by Frog Hollow Fly Fishing 4 times a year. It is open to any an all fly fishing anglers whom enjoy competition fly fishing.
Where: Frog Hollow
When: Sunday January 29th 2012
Starts: 7:30 a.m.
Ends: 5:30 p.m.
Entry Fee $75 Per person
Contestant Information and Rules
Limited to 20 Fly Fishing Contestants
Contestants sign in and draw at 7:00 am for assigned beats and judging times
Fishing time, number of beats and prize money is determined by number of entries
The assigned judge must witness and score fish
Tie breakers are determined by contestant with the most accumulative centimeters
Measurement is rounded up to the next nearest centimeter
Fly-fishing with barbless, single hooks only
3 fly limit - Contestant may use up to 3 flies at once
Contestant must net and measure fish
Any fish that touches the dry ground or bank when scoring is disqualified
Fowl hooked fish. Any fish hooked behind the gill plate to the tail do not qualify
Deadline to register for this event is Saturday, January 28th 12 Noon
Contestant spot is not reserved until all fees are paid in full or arrangements made
Contestant must sign a waiver
Entry fee breakdown: $25 Rod fee + $25 Big Pig + $20 Big Pig Points
