POINTS SYSTEM

Contestants will fish all beats equal amount of time. Contestants measure in centimeters and score their total amount of fish from each beat, the largest fish points from each session will be scored as a (1) the second largest fish points will be scored as a (2) and so on.  At the end of the day the fisherman with the lowest score will win the Points competition.
 

TIES

In case of a tie in the final scoring, the total number centimeters of scored fish between the tying fishermen will win.

You are invited to attend or to participate in this fly fishing event to be held at Frog Hollow on the beautiful and picturesque waters of the Chestatee River in Dahlonega Georgia and Unicoi Outfitters the famous and beautiful Chattahoochee River south of Helen,Georgia.

Entry Fee Per Team $175.00

Attendance is open to the public.

The Gold Cup Challenge is a two-day event, which will permit a two-person team to match their skills against other teams, to earn a $1,000 grand prize, plus One full day fishing and one night lodging at frog Hollow. Team awards will be given for 2nd, and 3rd place. Best Angler award will be given for the most total inches.
Registration to compete is open to the general public, on a first come basis.

A maximum of 20 teams will be permitted; a minimum of 10, two person teams must be registered for the event to take place.

A non-refundable registration and entry fee for each team is required.

In the event an insufficient number of participants register for this event, all funds for individuals and or business will be returned.

A kick-off dinner will be hosted at Frog Hollow on the Friday evening before the Challenge begins at 6:00 p.m.

A participant captain’s meeting will also be held at Frog Hollow on Friday evening prior to the tournament.

This is a two day two person team event and will be conducted according to Trout Legend competition standards, FIPS MOUCHE rules, and Tournament Committee member rules and regulations. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Gold Rush Chapter Trout Unlimited, a 501 (C)(3), non-profit organization.

The Georgia Fly Fishing Team is a group of anglers who compete in local and national fly fishing tournaments.  The team is excited as it makes strides to collectively participate and encourage in the sport of competitive fly fishing. Team Dead Drift Mission Statement:
Team Dead Drift is dedicated to developing a competitive fly fishing team to participate in regional, national, and international events.  The Team will strive to assist in educational efforts aimed at teaching the art of fly fishing.  It will also endeavor to participate in conservation efforts (in coordination with other organizations) to protect and preserve the diverse cold water and warm water fisheries throughout the state of Georgia and the southeast.

ANNOUNCING CASTING FOR CONFIDENCE ON OCTOBER 8, 2011
Georgia Women Flyfishers is pleased to announce the 2011 offering of Casting for Confidence (CFC).
CFC is a one-day program specifically for breast cancer survivors, provided at no cost to the participants. We host a full day of fly fishing instruction, fishing opportunities and general fun and laughter, starting off early with a light breakfast, orientation, and introductions. Participants will enjoy a day reserved for learning about the art and science of fly fishing.  For those who find they love the sport, we provide guidance on ways to continue to enjoy fly fishing on their own. Please join us!!
Why Flyfishing? The sport provides beneficial exercise, relieves stress, and is a great way to spend time outdoors in a beautiful setting.
Who can Participate? CFC is designed for Breast Cancer Survivors only, especially those beginning to resume normal physical activity after surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation. Preference will be given to those who have never attended CFC before. There are only 12 spaces available and they will be filled in the order in which the registrations are received.
Cost? The event is free to breast cancer survivor participants, and includes a light breakfast, hearty lunch, and afternoon snacks. 
When and Where? CFC will be held on October 8, 2011 at Frog Hollow, a beautiful privately owned section of the Chestatee River near Cleveland and Dahlonega.
What do you learn? You will learn the basics of flyfishing, including casting, fish food, equipment and knots, fly tying, and ending the day with fishing on the Chestatee with a personal and experienced guide. At the end of the day, around 5:00 PM we have light snacks, share fish stories, and have a graduation ceremony to celebrate our successes of the day. We hope to send everyone back home with a huge smile around 6:00 PM
